Coastlanders School of Missions is presently performing its function on a trip by trip basis. Training is provided to mission students for the ministry they will be involved with as well as general mission preparation. Other training includes information pertaining to the specific place of outreach, cultural protocol, and one on one ministry, such as; evangelism, prayer and ministering the Word of God. Future intent of the School of Missions will be for boarding students over extended periods (approximately six months) involving more in-depth training and discipleship. Each term will include classroom teaching, small group ministry, practical ministry training for construction, clothing and food distribution. Individuals will be taught biblical foundations, aspects of Christian living, principles of discipleship and mission preparation. Part of the six months will be spent on actual mission trips to exercise what has been learned and experientially find their own individual niche for their call in ministry. Students will be required to raise their own funding for attending the school and the mission. Charges will be only for direct costs of the School with the hope for donations to provide scholarships.
